Cap, these were the 2.25 tubless ready EVO's I think - will check when I get home. I went slightly off line and put a 5mm tear in the rear tyre - nob was almost ripped off. They tried to burp off the rim front and rear if you stressed them too much and made some very strange noises when pushed hard in corners or under braking. Really soft flimsy tyre - fine as an XC tyre for someone who does not push the descents but not me...

Agreed, wouldn't recommend them EVOs for anything other than manicured velvet laden tracks. EVO + SS is a whole nother story though.

I asked because I have the NN in SS and pacestar.. surprisingly good: tough, and astounding (i mean,it is pacestar afterall..) amounts of grip. Pressure is low, around 1.9/1.8bar, but the SS helps keep the sidewalls from buckling when cornering. Keen to see what an NN in trailstar compound will do. But I'd rather just stick on an HD in SG.

Looking good Tim

Fiona is currently in a mobile state, but at the LBS for some "work" to be done. The new brakes need a full bleed and I have asked Action to cut off the granny ring tabs so that I can run my Single Ring Chain guide with rollers.

Meezo was kind enough to donate a seatpost that I will fit for the ride home and this evening I will mount the guide and hopefully this will work without any issues, then take a little time to get the base suspension settings right before being able to take her for her first "dirt" maiden ride tomorrow on Table Mountain.

Pics are not the most current and will be updated tomorrow again.

How the hell do you mount the Nics?? They are so damned tight that when I finally go the rear on on, I had to sit down for a while..

They are so tight on the Subrosa's that it inflated with a hand pump, no stans and all my injuries!? Then I discovered that the rim tape was twisted so had to take it off again?! That's as far as I got..

I got the Snake Skin and have been impressed - with tube- so far. Narrow for 2.25..

I would give Fiona some colour on her nose (stem) and put on some earings (colour on grip ends) and then a colour manicure and pedicure (rims).

(Maybe different fork decals with Phat too)

Nice bikes guys! I see a lot of Intense bikes. Here's mine.

A lot of the parts have been ported from my old Commencal so they're not the best but I've been slowly collecting parts.

Frame: Intense 5.5

Fork: Rock shox 120mm rekon fork (next on my shopping list: revelation or sektor)

Brakes: SLX

Crankset: Sram x4 shifters, derailleur etc (Already have a zee shifter, derailleur and Race face respond crank and E13 chainguide.. looking for a cassette and chain at a lekker price)

Headset: old one from commecal - geo is a bit steep with this and a 120mm fork...

Stem: 110mm gap stem... bit too long, will get a 60mm or 80mm when I find one.

Got a bunch of On One stuff on there as well: saddle, handlebar etc.

Easy Easy .... I have spotted a set of orange grips that would do, but will still look around. The stem is there to stay for now and will allow me to see which length will best work on the bike.

The fork will stay as is until I have her stripped down for a full service at some stage. Plan would be to either spray her white or in green to match the frame and I have been chatting to "Phat" about options available to me.

The rims will also be getting a set of colour coded decals.

Now I get the idea of splashing out on the girl, but at this stage I would far rather take the time to get to know her better before splashing out on her and not actually knowing where her heart lies. I really do not want to give her any gifts that have no meaning for her.

So time to build on our relationship and go riding ;)

Ha ha, sounds like you are on a budget. I know those "explanations" all too well. Looking good, the green/white fork will look cool.

Or what about those DVO forks CG is running, emerald green!

I noticed the tightness of the schwalbes when I took them off my rims - trick is to lube them a bit with sealant or water or soap and they can be got on without a tyre lever - even in HD SG variety - and they do pump up as if they have a tube in them.
