The ductape around the nipples were nothing ito pain...its the kuk in a wolkombers plaster / dressing that the nurse plakked from O-ring to balbag(catching every hair in between) that got me...I had to remove and get it re-dressed every day from day 6. To remove them I took two gels, went into the bush at whichever race village, rip the one off, have a gel, cry a bit...then rip the other, have another gel....re-dress the saddle sores. Worst part of my day. Ripping that plaster over the saddle sore must be very close to child birth pains...

Chamois cream is great, use it for anything longer than a 50km. However, on the extra long rides finding I'm getting bad nipple chafe, tried nipple cream but it doesn't seem to work. Anybody got any useful advice?

I had the same problem .Now i always ride with a compression type vest .Much more comfortable, even in summer .Chamois cream only on long rides and put on sparingly

Too hot for me....ductape, the best a man can get.

Plasters fall off / rub off after 40km....go to builders and get a roll of ductape, cut into circles, you will never finish it

It must be there or there about, I was close to passing out, but then again, I get bad man-flu.

Do men get "good" man-flu? hehehe.. Sorry you had to endure such pain. It is not lekker.

On the childbirth side, I suppose every woman is different too. My friend popped her baby out in the loo.. I endured 20 hours of induced labour.. sigh.. anyways, I hope you are/have healed and that the memories fade.. ;)

Hahahah touche, we are all sissies.

PS I was going through the memory banks, trying to remember those "breathing techniques" the mid-wife explained to us and ante natal classes when ripping those plasters....a powerbar gel with caffeine helped alot though

That's only because you will only use the first circle..... rip it off once and you will never use it again...

But is good for using on your hands over a layer of second skin for burst blisters....

Those breathing classes were a waste of time. When the pain hits, you want to slap the person in the face that says "stop holding your breath, and breathe, breathe" yeah right! See if they breathe if I shove my foot up their rear!
