Chamois Cream - do you use it?

Id like to hear hubbers reasons why they use it as well as not, if you dont use it.

I do use it, and it helps to keep the saddle sores away.

Is it distance / time in the saddle related?

Yes Mark II...why I use it. To kill the funk you know where. Also helps the with friction wrt saddlesores, far more important I think is a saddle your bottom agrees with and a bib

I use it for long rides and also when I know I'll be riding 'longish' rides a few days in a row.

Yes. Used to think it was BS but have to admit that it helps the old butt; definitely reduces einas.

I didn't use it at first, but often had saddlesore issues. Have never had a problem since using it, so now it's as routine as getting dressed.

And also it helps with friction as some said.

 

As for using sometimes, I think some will only use for longer rides and not worry on shorter rides.

Off course yes! Mix my own: 1 big tub of milking cream + 1 tube of antiseptic ointment. Cheap and it works like a charm.

If I'm gonna be in the saddle for more than 3 hours then yes, or if I'm gonna ride 2 or more long rides back to back. Madaji milking cream.

Are thinking of ditching it? Truth be told, after the uikak session we had from oom at j2c I seriously considered it. I mean I was in the medic tent and he wasn't, but then also my saddle didn't agree with me. Will still use it even if it is just for the nice smell

I don't use it every morning, but for long weekend rides and races it's a must. I always use it one stage races and can say it (literally) saved my butt on the Epic...
