Yup, nothing gets passed the big O on aspril 1st.

Surely people have done this before, at least considered it with the zero refund policy?!

Am a bit broken after last weekend's big afkak session in the mountains I am still battling to take the stairs - good luck to all you crazies in your final week.

It looks like the weather predictions are looking a bit better as time goes by. Sunday looks the best out of all the days from Thursday to Tuesday so I will take that with both hands.

My aim for the day is....10:30

1:10 swim

0:05 T1

5:25 bike

0:05 T2

3:45 run

Will have to assess the wind, and could take another 15 mins on the bike to to ensure that I have legs on the run, I really want to smash that four hour Marathon mark. My strategy is to hit the run with the 10:30 target in mind, if the wheels fall off hopefully its not too bad and I can slow down by 45 seconds per km and still make it under 11 hours.

T1 is probably realistic, I like to allow myself 2 extra minutes for a loo stop in T2, I dont want to start the run and then have to go

At least its looking like the chances of a cancelled swim are now pretty remote. Would hate for the 10th edition of IMSA to be a duathlon!

Surely that was an April Fools joke.... Cancelled swim? The weather has to be really, really bad for this to happen.

With those target times I would have thought you would handle toilet matters "on the run"

Hoping to do sub 10.. but thats only if wind drops completely or switches west.. otherwise will be happy around 10:30.

Goal A will be:

swim 00:58

t1:00:3

bike 5:30

t2:00:03

run: 3:20

but by the looks of things 10:30 is looking more likely, eitherway just gonna be happy to be out there!

Been so carefull these past 2 weeks, refusing to cycle outside and only on the trainer, doping up on multivitamins to stop from getting sick, and now woke up with such bad back pain i can hardly walk.. just from sleeping funny. just hope its a one day thing that will be gone tomorrow!

So Ironman weekend is pretty much here.... to say I am excited would be an understatement!

This whole "taper" thing is a beautiful experience.
