Think I'm going to the doc today. Got a cold on thursday, and it is not going away. Would be a big disappointment if I can't ride on sunday.

Hope all of you with colds or headache are healthy for sunday's race!

Who has slept in the 'NG kerk' hall last year?

Missed out on all accommodation luckily (I hope) got a spot in the church.

What's it like and what should one expect?

Probably just a bed in a communal room, but I'm sure it will be warmer that a tent.

Guys,

Do you know if it will be possible that one of our group is doing the registration on behalf of the whole group and picks up race numbers and packs?

What would he need next to the print of the RaceTec letter and chip?

Generally if you provide a letter stating:

I, so and so, id number so and so, race number so and so, give person x permission to pick up my packet. And then sign it.

They have had a really k@k process for a few years now where the racepacks are filed in numeric order, not alphabetically, and there was no alphabetic list available either .

If you did not know your number, you would have had to queue at a tannie who would look it up for you on the computer.

I think it was fixed last year, but if you have your number, it is a very quick pick-up and can be done on Sunday morning before the race.

I was thinking about this but then I pictured 1000+ blokes queuing.... This will make the quickest pickup a mission...

Maybe I am wrong. How was is last year?

I did .... and was pleasantly surprized.

Yes matrasses laid out on the floor - as when you were in school.

I expected a chattering fumbling right through the night, but at around 10h00 ( maybe a bit later) it was quite and every one asleep. ( I made a comment the next morning on my expectation of noise and someone mentioned that all of us wants to do good today.)

Next morning a table is laid in the middle of the floor with a nice breakfast, hot water, coffee, tea, muffins and fruit.

The hot water cold water was a bit of a problem in the showers but it is clean and civilized. Not 5star... but for the price you pay it is real good value for money.

I am sleeping there again this year.

PS I guy was snoring .... :)

I want to do the Hakerville (Garden of Eden) sigle track (red route) on Monday after the K2C.

Who has done this route?

How will the route handle the rain from the previous week (to muddy/wet)?

Same question for me. Is the route open to the public and how do I go about riding it?
