As a matter of interest...what gearing did everyone use? I rode the course as a "singlespeed" yesterday keeping my gears on 28-17 (gain ratio of 3.2)...could probably have knocked it down one on the cassette...but that was pretty comfortable to climb all the hills and not spin out on the flats...interested to know what you hardcore SSers were using

 

p.s was really lekker and made me want to get a SS even more

jurre...thats mean...the ten beers must have helped

He fell the whole way, he could have been running 44 x 11 wouldnt have mattered.

 

I went with 32x18...perfect

Also rode SASSC on a 32x17 (29r) but felt a 32x18 would have been more appropriate.

yes, especially since we were hanging like fruitbats from the party at the potbelly something or the other. Who knew hilton had a nightlife

I was on 34:18 on my 9er.

also suffered but think it had more to do with the 10 quarts I drank at Pot and Barrel, along with the tequila in my water bottle.

Oh is that what it was called.....nothing like bohemian rhapsody through a piece of singletrack to perk one up I always say
