Cheapest at $500... Its ok - I'm so far behind on my games list, that it will be years before I get to the newer stuff that would benefit from this. "Jones on fire" does not need raytracing

 

I'd like a small-ish one that would play nicely in a mini-ITX case.

Nearly R17k for the cheapest option currently?! Uhm, nah, I'm good, my Radeon 390 is still able to run most things at playable rates even if I have to deselect a few options.

Those rates are just plain old crazy. I have a 1060 and it does most things fine. I wouldn't drop for a 2080 at 17k no amount of good gfx is worth that.

If I had R17k lying around, I'd have a Kickr Core plus a new CPU and mini-ITX motherboard.

Sadly I don't have nearly enough time left for gaming, to be able to justify this kind of cost on a single component.

and other than cosmetic front panel changes, the PC case hasn't changed an inch: still a super rubbish layout internally, likely thanks to the damn mobo. eg: GPU cooler pointing down. ATX plug on mobo the furthest away from the PSU, so the thickest cable strand is the longest.  lolwut seriously?

 

I absolutely loathe a PC case. Just about Every single one out there is just lipstick on a pig

the GPU cooler facing down makes a lot of sense..

firstly it sucks the cooler air from the bottom of the case onto the heat-sink, and facing down also slows down the dust collecting onto the heat-sink itself..

RTX 2080 is supposed to give a whole 50% better performance than a 1080 TI.

That said 1080ti can run anything at max gfx with great frames.... why buy the 2080 at the price?
