Must concur, it was a brilliant event! Well worth the full entrance fee. Performance from most of the teams in the bar was a bit lacking though.

I loved it, it was nice to see that it's not a race.

The only team really to speak of was Hanco and Melt other than that the rest seems to be for fun.

 

No hardcore mixed, vets, sub-vets and ladies teams, just pure fun and excitement on the bike for most.

Had a brief chat with Melt who said he was pretty much cruising.

 

The route is very enjoyable, but don't be fooled as a beginner, it's not a pedaling route, the sand seriously messes up the cadence and flow.

Day two is a tough a day as any that one could experience on a mountain bike, short distance but a grueling day nonetheless.

 

Day three was incredible fun and gave my partner the ability to ride a little harder and see what he was capable of.

All in all a heck of a lot of fun.

 

The speeches on the last night killed the party, the lunch being served at 13:00 yesterday also wasn't so lekker, many left and ate on the way.

Our game drive at 17:30 was a flop too.

 

USN were fantastic in their support and the Spikes and water bottles with a Recovermax after each stage is a welcome sight for some.

 

All in all a great event with a nice field of riders who all have the same goal, and that is to simply go out and enjoy riding their bikes in an untouched area with some spectacular scenery at times.
