Yes, its near impossible even if you do the patches trick where you move the side that you already fitted closer to the centre of the rim to allow more space to get the tyre on.

Here is a tip, buy a bottle of Ricky Louw, drink half of it neat....use green crowbar tyre levers and get someone to help. After you got the first one on, drink the other half of the bottle...its going to be a long night

Best advise I got from Vinny the Butcher was the following;

1. Lie the tyres in the sun inside out for about 2 days until all the kinks are out.

2. One long tyre lever

3. Plenty soapy water on the rims and bead of tyres

4. Elbow grease

5. Pump up at garage. MUST hear 2 pops per tyre.

6. Leave on rims for a solid day.

7. Get a syringe to insert the Stan,s solution via the valve.

8. Redo process, insert Stan's solution and pump tyres with a bomb (yes it works) or at the garage.

You will battle all day unless you follow the above. I know!!!!!

I believe it is a bit of both as the rim profile is also an issue

correct...I also suspect its a bit of both. The upside is you will never burp them, guaranteed, the downside, well you need to carry an angle grinder with you in a race to be able to fit a tjoob if needs be...

Single reason I don't ride them, also the geax tnt's are moer heavy

Put mine on last night without any trouble. Are you trying to put them on using a floor pump? I took mine to the garage, 5min job. I have Mavic crossmax ST's so might be the Stans wheels...

I feel your pain.

Round 2 tonight of trying to seat Hans Dampfs on a set of crest

Paint a layer of sealant on the tyre bead. Allow it get a bit dry.

Pump at the garage. Easy peazy!
