GEAX tyres on Stans wheels

Thank you. That is now my approach.

Took me a while to seat them on the Loaded AMX rims. When the tape failed I pulled the tyres off the rims with the old sealant still on the beads. Redid tape and reinflated. SCORE!!! Not a single problem.

Enjoy the tyres.

Don't even try. You will skin your knuckles or even break a finger. Further, to get it off you have to cut it off and that's not something you want to do when doing field repair work.

Don't use steel tyre levers either, they will punch right through the rim. I have samples here to prove it.

That combo just doesn't work. Move on.

I feel your pain.

Round 2 tonight of trying to seat Hans Dampfs on a set of crest

Put mine on last night without any trouble. Are you trying to put them on using a floor pump? I took mine to the garage, 5min job. I have Mavic crossmax ST's so might be the Stans wheels...

Paint a layer of sealant on the tyre bead. Allow it get a bit dry.

Pump at the garage. Easy peazy!

The OP isn't experienceing sealing issues. The problem he is having is tring to get the super tight Geax tyres over the rim.

Geax tyres seem to have a smaller diameter bead or something. It's quite tricky to get the tyre onto the rim. But as mentioned, with a bit of technique and elbow grease, you can get them on.

Pinch the parts of the tyre you have got on, in towards the centre "V" of the rim. Then shift all the excess towards the un-installed area. This then should give the slack required to lever the last bit on.

Hey guys,

I'm really having a hard time putting on GEAX Saguaro tyres on my Stans rims.

Have any of you guys also experienced this ?

Unfortunately it goes with the territory

Best advice I can give you is to sell the Stans and buy Crossmax

Amazing. Only ride with GEAX Suagaro and Roval rims. Heavier but bullet proof

Install a tube first, pump to 2,5 bar and leave like that for 30min for the tyre to learn the shape.

Then remove tube, install valve and you should have no issues.

Then its definitely the rim as my tyre fitted over the Crossmax rim without any more struggle than I'm use to with Maxxis tyres.

Goodluck with the fitment! Can't wait to test mine out this weekend also going to be running front(traction) and rear(speed) option.

That would make Geax the Bulldogs of the dog world...untrainable!

Geax tyres can be fitted to WTB rims using just your hand, struggled somewhat to fit Crossmarks on my Stans rims though.

I rode geax for years. Put a new tire on the first time , they can give you bit of hard time. saguaro's on bontrager rims, on mavic rims and stan rims. Always got it on. Make sure your working the bead to the rims channel(critcal bit) and use so soap water for lube.

Like a said getting new tire on rim for first time is hard but after that is not that bad.
