I have a road bike and mtb, I decided to use my mtb today because next weekend is the Argus mtb in Knysna. I expected more people, thats all. In Paarl alone there are about 1000 + regular cyclist. To see 40 on the start line was dissapointing.

If only it was properly advertised in Paarl and use was made of the various forums to advertise it on there would have been a much bigger response. I live in Paarl, cycle in Paarl, but only happen to see it all happening this morning.

With duringd on this one. Local advertising could improve. If it wasn't for Hubville I would not have known about this ride in my own town. My wife, who also works in town did not know about it until I said we should not exit that side of town.

Had something on so could not do the ride, went for early jol on the mtb. Was surprised to see the finish so low on the climb - but presume that was for logistical reasons. Awesome day for a ride, hope this becomes annual.

There were 9 of us from 'the Outriders' who entered the 80km race as it was also billed as an inter club race. Although only 52 lined up at the start for the 80km race it was still a tough ride. It was also nice to do the 'normal' race route in reverse this time. It would have been nice to have had more competitors especially for the organisers but a 'big up' to them for putting the time and effort in to stage the race in the first place and I'm sure the winner of the main event was very happy with his prize. There isn't much for us roadies during this time of year so it made a nice change from the normal training rides. Thanks CLPaarl.

A big thank you to the Race referees and police on the day.

It was a very well handled race in the 110km Licensed bunch.

All in all an awesome event.

One up too that!

My experience of the race. On Sat we battled to find Cycle Lab Paarl as the map on the site directed us to 9th avenue off Pine St. The shop said that would be the finish - When we found the shop.

Which would have been made so much freaking easier for a southern burbs boy like me if they had just put a sign up - like turn right here for race registration. At Cycle Lab. PAARL!

The route was awesome Tough and so much better than just the usual "around the point an back". Northern roads make for tougher roadies!!

Here is my $^$&$&^$#& PROBLEM. CYCLE LAB!!!!

After 107k.. the marshell that should have directed me up to the monument was no where! IE I did not even get to the finish. When I reached the road leading back to your shop, in the main road, I realized what had transpired. And then looking up at the cars parked along side the actual road that I should have actually been on i just though **** it and **** the stupid medal and that was the end of my "race".

Great to feel cool by starting with the real racers though. :)

Dont worry Firewolf no medals were given to finishers :) and race weren't timed by Racetec as advertised. I really enjoyed the race even though I cycled about 60km alone due to the small field of riders. This event certainly got potential to grow.
