OK, found the info. On the email you got look at the “Team ID”. Mine says Waitlist - 33

My team ID is Waitlist - 35. Sure hope there are 35 teams out there who decide they no longer like MTB and become roadies, or something like that. When is a good time to start asking about people wanting to sell / swop out entries? I would guys closer to the race....

Does it make any difference, it's the same course for all. We were a couple in our mid 40's and road in the race category, starting off in group N but moving up to K. I'd go for whichever fits in with your domestic timetable best.

Having done it for the first time last year I would suggest if your wife is a beginner spend equal amounts of time getting her skill set up, The handling levels were surprisingly bad and a lot of people seemed to waste energy just by not being able to manage the off road basics, such as descend reasonably swiftly or manage muddy corners.
