Cant wait for this thread to develop into one of the lauf-a-minute threads the hub is famous for.

It's getting difficult to find straight steerer forks these days. Looking for one for a niner ss build, this would have been very interesting.

 

It's close to impossible, but there are still a few out there if you're prepared to wait 2 months...

 

No laufing matter if you own a steel frame.

Trust me, I know .

For your Niner , if it is a normal head tube you can still put a tapered fork in by using the correct Cane Creek headset .

I also have an old Santa Cruz Heckler that I am looking to upgrade the fork on.

 

I thought the cane creek headset would only work if you have a 40 mm internal diameter?

Nope, go looky looky nicely on their site .

Yep, if the current headset is semi integrated you can fit an external bottom cup and a tapered fork.

 

External cup straight steerer is a no go.
