The Siemens M35i the first cellphone with a built in 'bike computer' function. No GPS, just had the normal wired wheel sensor from the cradle!

 

At the time the sheriff and Summit cycles the only ones that had even heard of Specialized that I knew of .....

Discs were pretty rare until about 2002 if I think back to old race photos.

Just went through the race photos from the 2001 Sabie Nationals - not a single rider on discs yet, so could well be around that time. Styling also looks similiar to the bikes of those days. We've come a very long way in terms of bike design :thumbup:
