Thug Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 All depends on the type of riding you do. In my opinion, the Merida is a much more versatile bike than the Rush.

Rather keep your Merida and wait for another Specialized Epic/Stumpjumper to come available that is in your price range and the correct size ...... now there is an independant opinion for you huh

GoLefty!! Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 They are two very different bikesThe Rush is more long trave XC race bike that is stable and forgiving enough so it can be used for trail duties. The Merida is more a trial bike that could used for racing on the odd occassion. Faced with a similar decision two years ago I went with the Rush. The suspension felt more linear and the the bike felt more lively. A more direct competitor to the AM5000 is the Cannondale Prophet.
