Who's Doing the USN Race - Red Barn Saturday.

Races that end up like this should have no results and no prize giving.

Agree with you totally on this.

They should have nullified the results there and then and not make any promises as to how they will try and fix it as it will be an impossible/ laughable job.

Situations and races like these are making a joke of the cycling and leave a bad taste in my mouth.

The way the organizers are dealing with the matter by suggesting that "riders through confusion took a wrong turn" in their email is not appropriate, there was a problem with the route, I sure as hell wasn't confused, just followed the route..

100% agreed

There was NO confusion, I followed markers and saw blue tape after all my turns

There should be a marshal where there is likely to be confusion on the route so he can direct the riders.

There are so many tracks out there at times one had to look ahead to see the blue bunting. Oh well let's just call it Moaning Monday. Let's just pay the fee and go ride the awesome ST we didn't get to ride in the race.

How was you ride yesterday ?

Route was great, went via voortrekkerhoogte down Eufees, Fountains, Irene & back past the Eco park for 90km. Had to stop & wait a couple of times. We should organize a ride, wow that Venge is a fantastic looking machine!! I need to come talk to you.

PS: I'm buying dips some arm warmers

How on earth are these guys gonna figure out who took the shortcut and who didn't?! I rode past riders from A batch that I had passed right at the start of the race!

Results for the 50 should just be null and void, riders should receive an apology and a discount on the next entry.

AG PLEASE IT WAS A SUMMERS DAY YESTERDAY

Yes it is as true reflection of the day's temperature as the results of the "race".

I have send my email to the organizers.

I'm not expecting a reply or an answer. But seriously how on earth will they determine the distance for each individual rider.

These calculated results are a joke. Surely it is expected that someone doing the shorter distance is going to have a better average speed. This race is a complete waste of time and I agree that we should get an automatic entry into the last race of the series. If we even want to do it that is.

I think someone must check their maths. My odo said i rode 46km in 2:29min and on the SASeeding site i have a time of 3:33min for 43km. I would like to know how they calculated the results, because it doesn’t make any sense... I had an average of 19km/h so according to the time they gave me I should have done 63km. WTF??

Everyone must just bombard info@velocourse.co.za with complaints!!

They used averages for the distance greater than 30km, so you lose out if you faster than the average.

It's like the ANC's wealth distribution theory applied to race times....

My final calculated time and average is about 0.2km/h different from actual on my computer.

Can't complain about this.

What bothers me is that a bunch of us lost about 5 to 10 minutes at the marshal 2km from the finish.
