Jeesh, was I disapointed when Vale lost that front end.

Once he got the gap up to 1.5sec, I told my wife, MM93 is playing with VR43 (she loves MM93 btw).

As soon as MM93 started closing the gap, I told her again, this is going to be interesting, let's see if Vale can keep in front, and the rubber side down. Alas, he could not........

 

I agree, all of a sudden the Yammies are back up to competitive speed.

I would leave my wife immediately if she had such bad taste.

So used to them loosing the front end first. Yes, it was the back at first, but I think the front tucked in also.

MM applied the pressure and VR46 cracked ...

Not even sure if MM would have caught VR46 , but we have to presume he would have .

 

Another great MotoGP race .

How good was HS55 ... last to 10th ....Well done to him .

Alex Rins has impressed me . The second half of the season he has found something ...

Jip lost the rear as he came on the throttle, Rossi's own words in his interview.

Marc actually said Rossi had run a bit wide and tried to cut back the racing line so that extra 1 or 2deg lean angle might have also contributed. Zarco complained of rear grip, so did Vinales so its seems Yammie have made a step forward but still have a bit to do.

I was cheering for MM but even I would have said well done to a Rossi win, easy to say now obviously.

 

I other news, and its qualifies as MotoGP as it is basically a road going MotoGP bike, have you guys seen the new Panigale V4R. Holy smokes, Alvaro must be licking his lips. My pick for WSBK title next year for sure. Think he will show "C-has been" Davies how its done.......

Didn't Rins start off the season injured?

 

I feel for Iannone, has a habit of just getting on with a bike then getting booted from a team. Always seems to happen just as the bike starts to come on song too!!!!

It has been announced at EICMA this week that from 2019, Honda Racing Coporation will participate in the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship as they collaborate with Althea and Moriwaki, with Leon Camier and Ryuichi Kiyonari preparing to do battle with the new team.

 
Aiming for a fresh start in the WorldSBK championship, the news this week sees HRC bring their full backing into the WorldSBK championship. The Japanese manufacturer are looking forward to starting a new relationship with Althea and Moriwaki, bringing the Fireblade CBR1000RR SP2 back on track.

 

And it just started to sound like Honda was going to take WSBK seriously again....

Think the only person who takes WSBK seriously at the moment is Rea. But shhhhh don’t tell him, his ego won’t survive if he figures out that he is a medium fish in a tiny pond.

Surely they could've convinced Pedrosa to help develop the bike by racing it for a year or 2??

So many riders available in this silly season, Eugene Laverty comes to mind right away having been shafted by Mr Muir.

Here you go, think Honda are taking SBK a lot more serious, a birdy has even hold me Honda want a big name on the bike in the US SBK series.

So I see there was quite a nasty spat between Dovi and Lorenzo, so much so that management got them to sit around a table EICMA to sort it out, alledgedly.

Dovi has though made comments that may even be seen to target previous Ducati riders. Still think the picked the wrong Andrea when they dumped Iannone...........

Long and interesting interview with Lin Jarvis over at Crash.com, but this one paragraph confirms my suspicions:

 

 

Lin Jarvis:

Yes [something has changed], but small steps. Yes, we are making some progress and some of the progress on the electronics in particular, we’ve applied. Obviously we can’t do anything with the engine, so in electronics we are making some small progress. So surely, yes, that has helped. I would say really Thailand we were helped by the tyre construction. Michelin were obliged to bring a very hard carcass [rear] tyre to that racetrack and that worked well for us. So for me, the big difference in Thailand was the tyre above all else. Motegi was not bad. Not fantastic, but not bad. Phillip Island we just talked about. That was a track that played to our strengths and minimised our weaknesses. So honestly I don’t really feel major steps have been taken place. I think we’ve been fortunate to go to a couple of tracks with circumstances that worked better.

Agreed to an extent. PI definitely with only a few low speed accelerations points but Sepang was definitely a big step. Even Marc said Vale's bike had good low speed acceleration which was their big problem. Valencia is not a good Yamaha track so lets see.

They have employed a proper electronics guy though in Michele Gadda, so the electronics are coming along. Just in time for the goalposts to shift again with the new 2019 rules
