ruib Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 The heat was brutal , my time 30min more than last year,really suffered towards the end, who else was in the e bunch on the tar road which crashed in the 1st 10km, just managed to miss the falling guys , did not stop , I hope they all OK.
Li Mu Bai Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Catastrophic Crater Cruise for me.Chain snapped and tore off my rear deraileur 18km in before the 1st water table. single speed didnt work as chain skipped up and over tightened. I abandoned 21km in, and then hobbling back to the start I punctured. must have lost my bomb aplicator nozzle when rebuilding the chain earlier, luckily had my hand pump. Such a miserable end to an absolutely gorgeous day and friendly good start in B batch.I hope this marks the end of this years bad luck! 1 destroyed chain1 destroyed rear deraileur1 destroyed freehub body1 huge hole in my racing ralph - plug keeps falling out1 destroyed deraileur hanger1 DNF entry feeno medal*sigh next year will be better!
