I use and elastic band. I put it in between the screws and then pull it over the mouth piece of the bottle. I dont know if pic makes sense. but it works, only thing is taking it off while pacing hard. I did not want to fork out more money for new ones.

Often its not the cage but a cheep poorly designed bottle. Try the Xlab gorilla cage XT, also make sure that you use a bottle with a groove running around the top.

I use Elite Paron cages and so far not a single bottle rocket.

Make sure you have a smaller bottle with a decent lip on it for grip.

Other tricks I have seen are a secret sock over the bottle to increase its diameter, as well as a thick rubber band tied to the cage then over the bottle until you need it, then swap with empty bottle. You can also wrap some cling wrap around the nozzle to ensure its clean by the time you need it.

ive lost count how many times i have lost my bottles this way, eventually took it off, i think i should give that blackburn a try

I have lost a few bottles using that Blackburn (both from seatpost and from down tube mounts) .... Specialised Z cage works best on the seatpost - the plastic ones.

The profile design cage is not the prettiest, but it is the only one that has worked for me. It has an elastic band around the outside witch helps a lot. I have tried 5 other cages and all of them lost bottels.

Jip... Not the lightest and prettiest, but in 4 years, never lost a single bottle.

Don't know if you still get them.

I saw some of them at cyclelab centurion last week, and bought one for my wife from the sports basement 2 weeks ago, so you still get them

How durable are these Keithc. The design on the Spez cages are very similar, but like I said, I have broken 2 of them in the past 10 months.

I used these at this years Sani2c and didnt lose any bottles. can be difficult to get a bottle out while on the move though, as quite flexible.

+1 on Spez Z cage used with Spez bottle. BUT nobody has got stock! Also tried Blackburn but lost bottle and broke cage trying to get bottle back in.

Tough to look ahead and get bottle back behind you

I bought a new type from Northcliff Cycles - which has an adjustable rubber bit holding two plastic "arms" (forget the name). It works well to hold the bottle, problem with my dual sus is the back wheel tends to hit the bottle on jumps. (must be the geometry). If I do a good job, I manage to unclip the whole bottle cage. If the bottle cage stays, so does the bottle (given the rotation of the tyre). So the cage is good at holding the bottle but can't avoid the tyre.

Won't be using it anymore (wife was getting annoyed with the tyre marks I was leaving on all the bottles :whistling: ) - has an optional handle bar mount, but I don't think I will go that route......

Lezyne Flow with a Continental bottle. U battle to pull it out nevermind it wobbling itself loose. I find thge Hollard/Nissan/Epic 'branded' bottles don't have a deep enough lip for the cage to clamp onto.
