What is the difference between XCO and MTB?

I know XCO is cross Country, does this mean the race is easy?

Please comment.

XCO is a discipline of MTB (MTB being a REALLY broad term).

It is Cross country (Olympic format) where a short course, often very tough and technical, is raced in a lap format.

XCO is a mtb'ing discipline...

You get marathon(what we mostly do here in SA and would you probably refer to as mtb), downhill, XC eliminator, 4X, dirtjumping, all mountain...

PS XCO is the most taxing on your cardio so NOOOOO not easy

XCE = XCO style lap, 4 competitors per round-top two progress AFAIK

Edit. Misread your statement. My bad. Edited by Ryanpmb

Thanks for the feedback.

I’m designing a shirt for our MTB Race and we want to distinguish the race committee from the marshals. Was thinking of using the wording “Race Official” or “Race Organiser”, but it has been used so many times that it has become mundane. We are looking for something unique and different.

Will the term “Race ExCo” confuse anyone? The word ExCo (Executive Committee) is well known in the corporate world.

Any comments will be appreciated.

and then you get XC eliminator...which is just redlining on your HR and your legs....hoping we see this introduced to nationals etc

Think it has. Pretty sure I've watched a national XCE here at Cascades. Maybe it wasn't - but there's definately been MTB festivals at Cascades that have included XCE.
