Narrow Wide Chainring Question

pics or it didnt happen.....

 

I would have liked for my bike to be clean, before taking a pic... but it's still a couple of months before my biannual bike wash.

 

So here it is (or as best as I can show it with my bike loaded in the van).

First ride will be this afternoon. I'll try keep an odometer on the ring to see if it's closer to 2500km or 4000km. (might take me a few years to ride 2500km :ph34r: )

 

In the interest of science (or laziness) I shall also use the minimal-maintainence aproach. :ph34r: :lol:

Nope. That's a bash ring. Nothing worse than kalumphing into a rock with your chain & chainring taking the full brunt of the impact!

You mean the orange bash ring?

 

That I'm keeping because 1) It's a Straitline and I paid good money for it, 2) My bike colour scheme involves orange accents, so it looks awesome, and 3) To protect my fancy new chainring from anything I fail to bunnyhop.

So here is the ring fitted on my Intense... it's not the N/W but I've got an E Thirteen chain guide and a zee rear mech :)

BWahahahahaha @hayleyearth. I took it off for a while but then I got lazy carrying the spare tubes and tool in my pockets. I have a very small camelback!

I dont even have one on my road bike, so much do I dislike the look. (and the constant ratteling....dont even speak about the weight it adds :ph34r:)

 

I wanted to tell you to pm me your address and Ill send you something decent to take on your AM rides (if you were to drop the sadle bag and bottle cage of course)...but then I noticed you need sleeves 1st :P
