Advice Needed: Cervelo Soloist or R3 ???

Hi all,

I need some unbiased advice. I have two options for a new road bike both similar price and components. R3 in slightly better condition.

Cervelo Soloist Carbon with FSA Compact Crank  OR

Cervelo R3 with Dura Ace Triple Crank

Any views guys?

Many Thanks.

I would be more concerned over the integrity of the frames rather than that of the components mate!! Isn't the word Cervelo normally closely folllowed by "recall"?

I stand corrected but I believe they also only have 3 layers of carbon compared to the better "Made in Italy" carbon which has a minimum of 5 layers?

Nothing wrong with a triple* it just doesn't belong on a high-end road bike like these two.

* gear changes also aren't as good with a triple. If, like me, you are old/weak/overweight etc then get a compact - similar effect, lighter, gear changes are better and wont stand out on a cervelo!

Albei is ongelooflik mooi.
