How does your kitty, sorry panther ride.

What is the clearance like on the rear.

Stunning bike, your second 27.5 Dale?

Thanks Nick! yes its my hardtail, you need the right tool for the job. Still have the 650b Scalpel, which is a great bike for the mountains. Also have the Prophet which is also a good candidate for 650b wheels.

650b Tyre clearances are good on the Flash, better on the rear than the Scalpel in fact I am using the 2.25 tyre on the Flash that was a tad tight on the Scalpel.

It rides great. Did the Crater marathon on it this weekend, and was very pleased. Never felt so good after finishing, even though I clocked just on the wrong side of six hours. That Fox Lefty is sprung with a spring so it feels a bit different to the Air sprung ones, but all good. It handled the bumps, the sand, the flat corrugated roads and the climbs well. Perhaps its those carbon bar-ends that gives it an edge,,,

I used quite a lot of parts off my very upgraded 2004 Scalpel (which I am keeping for posterity) I didn't re-use my old carbon Truvativ bars, had a few 'nicks' on them, so got that Easton EC-90 with 5 Deg sweep back, more than that bar ends don't work (for me at least). Carbon and Al bars have limited lifespans imho.

Brilliant - I have the 29er Flash and before upgrading from a 26er that was one of my ideas to go a 27.5 Flash route.

Are you doing Barberton and Sabie and if so which bike would you use for those races?

I think you are going to be the Hubs Resident Specialist on Dale 27.5 Conversions.

Scalpel for sure! I have that Fox CTD shock on it and the Reverb seatpost.

Still no single speed in the family but I think enough is enough for now :)
