The dhl handling fee is now R150. Shipment landed yesterday.

I'd use the tracked service through parcelforce.

What I've also noticed of late is that CRC ship from multiple locations so a single order may be sent in two parcels. Annoying if you choose DHL and then have to pay the handling fee for each parcel.

Problem I really had is I use a PO Box. So CRC sends it DHL, DHL wouldn't let me change to street address, only sender could do that, CRC wouldnt change because my Paypal address was the PO Box .... and so on. Filed a Paypal despute, eventually got a refund, parcel got returned what a waste of time ...

I am in the same situation, but DHL just hold it at any of their depots and you can collect it. It helps that the Sandton depot is 5 mins away ....

But still, parcelforce is often just as quick

There are quite a few cheap UK online shops

Wiggle

Ribble

Wheelies

Merlin

UK Bike Shop

Planet X

Wheelbase

Evans

Also check out Ebay and Amazon, Ebay often has stuff cheaper than CRC

Use Google, there are quite a few I've not even mentioned.

Your comment is pretty much due to your error, you chose DHL to a PO Box which will never happen because there is no one to sign for it. You should have chosen DHL to your home address else Parcel Force to your PO Box. This is not a CRC issue, but you error and you blame CRC for it....

Add on top of that approx. 15.4% for VAT and handling duties (R233.65)

Depends if customs stop your parcel. If they do, Duty on shoes is 40% and then 14% VAT + plus the usual disbursement fees to either DHL or SAPO.

Phone Joburg International Mail Centre 011 961 6000, they should be able to tell you where it is and why it is being held, and if being held because there is a discrepancy in the duties declared etc, then you can usually go to the centre in Jet Park and pay the duty and collect the item

Ribble

Wheelies

Planet X -GOOD PRICES, BUT RUBBISH COMMUNICATION AND SHIPPING - STAY AWAY

Wheelbase

Evans - OFTEN OUT OF STOCK AND CAN BE HECTIC SUPPLIER DELAYS- GOOD PRICES

EBAY WORKS OK. SHIPPING FROM USA IS EXPENSIVE. SHIPPING FROM CHINA IS DIABOLICAL AND SLOW. THEY DONT PACKAGE WELL EITHER. BUY FROM TAIWAN SELLERS, VERY GOOD SERVICE AND FAST SHIPPING.
