If hope can stop a fat bloke and shimano stop skinny okes it follows that hopes have more power. You see the fat guy has more momentum so it's more difficult to bring him to a stop. See? It's called logic.

It's not logical at all that hopes have more power...

Momentum = mass x velocity

Fat guy = heavy x slow

Thin guy = light x fast

No difference really....

Bled mine on friday night (I got to Critical Mass too late, so turned around and deemed the evening "Bike Maintenance Night", haha)

But yeah, Hopes are super easy to bleed. As for the dangerous DOT, I simply wrap some disposible cloth around the lever and bar in such a manner that if the reservior spills, it's not on a Fukushima scale.

I'm so abysmal at bleeding brakes that I gave my bleed kit to a friend and made him promise not to let me near it ever again. Trail & Tar. R90 a side. Bargain!

I always found it disturbing that they call a brake "Hope"...

Kinda like the Nukeproof 4x bike. The Snap.

Bleed kit: R450

Sending my bike to the LBS after I screwed the bleed up: R100

It looked so easy on YouTube.

What fluid does your car brake system work on?

I have dripped DOT on my paint several time and just wiped it off, this was over 2 years ago and the paint is still on?

Brake fluid has been paint friendly since DOT 3.5.... and you are really going to have to look for DOT 3 fluid that is not paint friendly.

Brake fluid is NOT pad friendly - neither is mineral oil....

Bought a second hand bike and the brakes was useless when I got it, tried to lightly sand of the brake pads and rotors but nothing helped, replaced the pads and problem solved. Think the previous owner managed to get some brake fluid on the pads and it destroyed the pads.

Yup. I can also confirm that dot5 is not that corrosive. I poured about a litre of it on my bike and the floor.
