Yes you are correct and let us not forget that a certain hated cyclist already got crucified for the sins of the rest of the doping community.

I fully agree that a cyclist should be allowed back after serving his ban. I just find it interesting how we decide to forgive some and others not

So Nolans was a genuine mistake ??? Knowingly taking something illegal to speed up his recovery ??

Interesting.

Also seem to be forgetting about the rst of his team that list their livelihood because the sponsor pulled out.

Makes him quite a good guy.

A lot like David George.

He took whatever he took for whatever reason...Got caught, Got Banned.. "old news" and his back snatching up the Wins :)

He missed out on several Cycle Tour Wins by narrow margins. Will he take 2014? I hope so!!

Hahaha.... Cheating is cheating.

He was knowingly dishonest. Despite the best intentions and the pressure and the fact that he is probably a hell of a nice guy, a cheat is a cheat. This is nothing to do with like or his personable character, this has to do with the fundamental aspects of trust and your own moral fibre.

Serve your ban and come back, by all means. But don't expect people to trust you or welcome you back into the fold with open arms.

If a guy is caught stealing, serves his 17 years and is 'rehabilitated' you are always going to watch your silverware when he comes to stay........

Its not a matter of liking one and not the other.. if you are a pro you know exactly what to take and what not...no excuses.

Im my eyes you are a cheat and you must never be allowed back into the sport.

you cheat while racing and now you want to run a business thats clean and honest..well I wont be supporting you..

Tunariaan and Jaco - I hear what you saying and agree to a point but would that be like saying that cause you have bunked a day at work or lied about why you can't come in the same as effectively cheating so should you be fired and not allowed to work again?

Don't say it's not the same cause it is. Just a thought.

Not really... This would surely be more like lying in a court of law to win a case, or making up test and survey results to get a building tender... Bunking training/work yes, is dishonest, but it is not gaining an unfair advantage over (assumedly) honest opposition. Really its doing the opposite. Missing work/training sets you back a day or two....

Cheating and lying to get ahead is a slightly different issue but I see your parrallel but the outome of the effect is opposite.

But again this comes down to your own views, prejudices and moral radar. the bottom line is you are not likely to trust a guy who has blatantly and admittedly done what he was explicitly told not to..

And so yes, if you break the laws governing the court or state as a lawyer you are disbarred and forbidden from practicing law.... That I think is a parrallel we can draw from.

Said disgraced former lawyer can in fact work again, but not in his initial chosen profession which he so fragrantly disregarded for his own benefit.

He could say, clean my kitchen or cut my lawn..... just a thought

Cheating is not a mistake, its a choice. With all the guys coming out and getting banned ETC, its very lame to say now "I made a mistake". You can see by those around you who made the "mistakes" and stay clean, you are simply a greedy little cheater who has admitted that you cannot win without taking drugs. When your team collapses, or your teamies lose their sponsors because of it, its WAY worse.
