Shot at on the Spruit

Hi everyone

Thought I would share a bit of an unpleasant experience I had on the Spruit yesterday. Was riding that peice of single track between Iona drive and the William Nicol just before 4pm yesterday. As I was riding along something started hitting the trees around me and clipped my helmet at very high speeds, I thought something had been kicked up by a lawn mower across the river but as I looked across I am 99% sure that I saw a man run into his house with a pellet gun. Don't want to cause to much panic as I can not be 100% sure that it was a pellet gun as it all happened very quickly but just wanted to warn others.

Not nice at all but I'm glad that you weren't hit.

 

Can you remember where the house is? I would take a visit to the local cop shop and report it. Nothing will probably come of it but you never know.

There was a tread about some shooting paintballs a while back.Not sure if this is the same area.

Report it to the cops and see what comes of it. If you are right, then a bit of heat will make him think twice before doing something as stupid as that again. (Next time he could well blind someone or cause a crash) If you are wrong, then at least you'll know that?

I check the helmet but it just clipped the peak so there no visible damage to it. Will have to try work out the address cus I only know the house from the river side not the road

Google Earth could come in handy with that.
