Surely the very poor english and % in front of the numbers, unprofessional presentation etc, etc are clues enough that this is totally bogus...

 

This type of scam is rampant on the photographic web sites as well, anywhere that has high value kit..

 

But for the people who've been scammed, shouldn't the bank account details enable the police to find the scamsters?

Exactly, but it's probably a fully legitimate, FICA'ed account with R50 in it. And the account holder is bogus.

Same guys that placed an advert on the hub a few weeks ago,location of the so called store was in Hout bay and now see that theu've changed it to plettenberg bay.

The company connected with that Reg No is The Bicycle of Africa. Bussiness start date 18 Oct 1994 and the company has subsequently been deregistered. Bussiness adress is: 1 Sangaree, Salmack Road, Plett and postal adress is PO Box 206, Plett. The company also has a totally different tax no.

I did some PI work yesterday with these oaks. I got them to send me an invoice etc.

 

They are according to the Alfred Samuel oke in Plettenburg, when I said I want to view the nikes got shipped from JHB. When I said I have someone there they said Durban...

 

Anyway, got the invoice. Checked the CK no and it belongs to a computer company in Houghton JHB...

 

Im still awaiting feedback from the bank account account.

 

Its a scam and definitely untrue. Beware!

I was at the bank this morning trying to pay in the money, but the lady at the Nedbank in Beaufort West says that your account has been frozen because of suspected fraud,

Please could you call the bank and sort this out urgently because I really need the bike for my race this weekend.

Unfortunately I cannot wait around in town as I need to go back to the farm to dip the sheep.

I have sold 11 sheep yesterday to buy the bicycle, so please don't disappoint me Alfred.

I called the bank and they said nothing like Fraud with our Account, so i don`t know the woman at Nedbank that is telling that news which is false.

But if you are really serious to buy, we can as well provide you with my correspondent account from another bank that we bank with as well.

One more thing, you stated yesterday that you will be making payment via EFT and now from your message this morning you want to go make cash on deposit and secondly your message came around 7AM this morning and the bank only opens around 9AM, so i am so puzzle by your claim when you said you went to the bank this morning which to me is untrue because banks opens around 9AM not 7AM.

So please if you are not ready to buy this bike, kindly let me know.
