And lets hope that is the full might of the law...

Pretoria - A mechanical engineer accused of knocking down six joggers, killing five of them, will learn his fate in the North Gauteng High Court on Wednesday.

Sibusiso Langa pleaded not guilty to charges of murdering Reneilwe Lesenyeho, Gaolojwe Tlale, Moroesi Mokoatsi, Given Mills, and Nomvula Dumako, and attempting to murder Abegail Stengile.

He also denied that he was drunk and drove recklessly on the morning that he hit the group of joggers in Midrand in October 2011.

In his evidence, Langa claimed they were in the middle of the road when he drove around a blind corner.

He said he saw another car coming from the front just before the accident.

His defence has called for him to be acquitted of all the charges.

DO YOU THINK I SHOULD HAVE TRUSTED MY GUT AND STUCK WITH FIRST OPINION

We'll see, but I don't have a lot of faith in the teeth of our legal system.

5 charges of culpable homicide, something tells me he is going to sit.

Culpable homicide is "illegal killing" but not murder (the intent to kill)

A large group of us did a memorial run for the fallen runners from the Virgin at Vodaworld.

We ran to where the incident happened, from first moment of impact to the next there was no doubt that this guy was not fully compos mentis.

I see the judge visited the scene and he did not rule out DUI.
