At what price Bibi?

Price has not been released yet, but given KHS brilliant price-point track record - it will be good;)

Stay tuned....

Man that is nice! How was the ride?

Helleva fun! Uphill, you notice the weight on the front wheel - not excessive - I'd describe it as a slightly heavier, bulkier 29r front end. On the flat sections you pick up momentum incredibly quickly and pretty soon you're steam rolling along! Downhill - WELL!!! It's just a fun factory on the downhills. Rode at Cascades and it soaked up the climbs (lots of roots and loose sections) and was great on the technical downhills...

Still need to find the ideal tyre pressure - I ran it quite high yesterday. It can definately go down a few PSI...

And she is almost complete! Our Fatty!!!! So far 8kg! (Still need front derailer, crankset, front disk rotor and pedals)

Will be complete tonight for 2morrows ride!

I see this thread has taken off a bit, and I find it quite strange. I rode a Surly fat bike in Wyoming about a year ago - rental for a day and it was pretty fun, although it handled like a mule. But it does let you ride in the snow, which means you can ride almost all year round if you're at the mercy of bad winters. So I'm wondering why folk here are so keen on the concept… Maybe riding on the beach? But is there something that I'm missing?

Its so difficult to justify as it makes no sense to get one in SA. Yet it is a huge attraction. Its a bike and we love bikes. Its different/unique thus the attraction. Will be selling my Scott HT to pay for my Fatboy, when it eventually arrives.....

So every manufacturer and their grandmothers are climbing into the Fat bike market.

A hell of an investment when they realise that the market is far too small to sustain so many different brands and I'm talking worldwide here!!

How many bikes does Victor Momsen honestly think he'll sell?? Very much doubt that the SA market will see more than 150 bikes in total spread amongst all the manufacturers.

There is only on true fat bike and that is the original Pugsley & Moonlander (Yes, I know I'm biased).

Not quite a fat bike - belongs in the 29+ genre, similar to the Surly Krampus+. Running 29er rims with 3.0" tyres, not 26er rims with 4.0" and wider like fat bikes.

Personally I think this is a genre that can take off in SA. Fat bikes are probably a bit much. 29+ bridges the gap between a fat bike and a rigid 29r  .

That's what I need for fishing trips up the T'kei coast
