A dual sus fattie?

Whats the point?

They are so plush without any suspension.

That's what people said in the early days of 29ers as well. A 29er hardtail was supposedly as plush as a dual sus 26" bike. It's still the greatest marketing feat in sport that they managed to sell so many people who had a dual sus a 29" hardtail and 12 months later another dual sus.

I think a dual sus fat bike will be great coming down the trails and especially drop offs.

If you need something different to go to the shops and critical mass rides for R3499 at Makro.

With Walmart having such a high stake in Makro, I was hoping that the fatbikes they brought in would be similar to the Mongoose Dolomite that they sell

Which remarkably similar to the Rapidbikes Fatcat

I'm looking for wide rim tape, anyone know where I can try?

Normal ducktape is 48mm wide, the cutouts in my rim are 50mm wide and if I use ducktape I will have to put it with the sticky side to the inside, so I would prefer to use just normal lightweight wide ass rim tape.

Just do 2 layers of duck. Trust me, it will work. FAR better than normal rim tape. Alternatively, just get a 24" BMX tube or (like one other bloke did) get a moto tube.

So I had my first ride.

WOW what a beaut!

Grips like there is no tomorrow, stable on tech sections, and tractors up loose climbs.

Love it to bits, best training ever.

I have learned : Fatties work best were other bikes struggle. Climbing on jeep track etc. is too easy and thus the "normal" bikes are quicker. Fatties wants places that you walk with difficulty.

I rode places today in the backwaters (dunes and Port Jackson bushes) were only off readers and quad bikes ever go.

I can't stop smiling.
