Rode out at Modderfontein again yesterday; still plenty mud around but excellent signage in place. I like that the trails are spread over such a big area that it doesn't matter if there's plenty other riders on the trails - you never feel like you're being chased through sections.

Northern Farms was also muddy in places yesterday. Thick dark sludge...part of the fun I guess

Thanks for the update - How was the river section?

Red route river section? PLENTY muddy where you're riding along it after turning left along the reeds from the fence line. On the route as a whole there's only a couple of sections that you can't bypass by riding along the verges.

Red route river section is my favorite! Will have to wait patiently for winter...

So I did Modderfontein this morning. Quite an experience! It came pouring down after about 20-min into the ride. Felt like London weather! Paths were all wet with puddles and LOTS of mud. The second half became sunny and was nice and enjoyable. Some parts are seriously muddy e.g. start of the mealie field reeds left of the hut. I can't say I envy those doing the Kia race tonight! My bike needed serious squirting and washing as it gained a good few kg in mud!

Not too bad there this morning. Bit of mud and the river was running quite full so you got a little underwater when crossing, but not a lot. All in all quote pleasant. Definitely better than a few weeks back.
