I got my dad a Command Post for his Birthday and he seems happy with it. I however am yet to be convinced it is needed for these Sani2C/W2W/Dr Evil type marathon races we do.....

How many guys used them at the Epic for instance? I didnt see many?

Don't think that's really its true application, more an enduro/trail/DH thing.

I should be getting my dropper post next week. I am just looking around at how to install it.

My shifter cables run through top tube and my rear brake under the down tube, but there are no cable clip mounts/rails.

Can I buy adhesive mounts or how would I get the cable from the reverb to the handlebars?

I got a Spez Command post before the weekend, and I must admit that it justified itself within the first 5mins! I did not think that it could affect my riding in such a big way. I was used to my seat being in way everywhere, but now I am so happy with it being all the way down when I am #Enduroing  Best puchase eva!

I've got a giant dropper post on my... well.. giant. It's awesome and was a mere R2K from Olympic cycles. Very impressed and love it.

Due to LBS in competence I was forced to do my first bleed of the remote of my Rockshox Reverb. Super easy.

At least I got to shorten and reroute my cable in the process.

Thanks Droo for supplying the parts and instructions.

Are the instructions in shareable format? Would like a copy please.

I initially wanted to go for a Reverb, but then I found out that my LBS had the Spez post that came off a Camber Expert. The owner of the bike swapped the dropper first thing, for a normal post. I got it for R1500.....Stoked!

Definitely one of the best inventions of all time.

the sram website also has some videos, very easy to follow. Shortened my hose and bled it the other day, with no issues.

Are brakes as easy?

I've shortened Reverb hoses a number of times withough bleeding afterwards.

Simply keep the remote end higher than the rest of the post when you cut.

This may introduce tiny amounts of air into he system, but a Reverb is an on-off kind of actuation. No feathering. No heating up. No high pressures.

No real "spongyness" (as it's a button).

As for brakes though, a rebleed would definitely be recommended after any hose alterations, as air in the system affects performance and feel drastically. Also not all brake hoses have fittings that can be removed and re-installed like with the barb system on the Reverb remote. So one would have to check that first.

My issue was that the LBS when putting my bike in the workstand, clamped it by the saddle, breaking the barb at the saddle.

Only noticed it on arrival at Tokai 3 days later

A dropper that won't drop. Nothing worse. Even though you can still ride, it eats away at you the whole time!
