So Just throwing this idea out there to see if there is any interest.

I just got another Trials bike and thought a few people might be interested to give it a try.

Personally I have found Trials has improved my handling and skills on a bike greatly.

I have heard a few people say they would like to give Trials a shot but are not willing to spend that much money on a bike just to give it a try.

My proposal is to give Trials skills lessons, Including a One hour lesson with the use of the above Trials bike, In the JHB area. R300 for the first lesson and R250 thereafter.

Skills to start with

- Trackstand, strong and weak foot

- Backwheel hops

- Rocking

- Peddle up

- Peddle kick

- Side hop

Would anyone be interested?

Me. You teaching me to bunny hop, track stand and manual in one lesson was pretty impressive tutoring. Should take just three sessions on the trials bike to turn me into Danny Mac then.

Yeah. .. That track stand was very impressive and more so after only one lesson!!

I trust Peach is a good coach.

Sounds good. Bike size?

Doesn't matter... there's no seat!

If you ever bring that bad boy down to CT for a holiday then stick me on the list. Love trials, hones skills razor sharp.

I'm 2m tall. I've never had anything normal size work for me.

Trials bikes usually only come in 1 size.

however this specific make does have a long and a short, I have the Long.

wheel size is 26"

I will be riding a 24" Inspired which I will let people try but its my baby.

Excellent. I'm very interested, but only if you're willing to deal with a bit of noobness.

We all started somewhere.

I agree. This is a fantastic way to up your skills on a bike. It does an insane amount for balance and low speed bike control as well as technical riding.

Normally guys just get a stem to cater for their different sizes.

A smaller bike in Trials is a lot easier to flick around.

Sweet, I will put you on the list to contact, at least you wont have any bad habits like Patches.

What does a trials bike cost generally...? And are there many local events...?

Diald recently put some Inspireds on their site ranging from 17-31k, the bike above would cost around 25k new.

No local events but I am hoping to grow the interest in Trials locally and hopefully get some competitions at the Nationals.

Sheezuz...! Quite pricey. Anyway, I'd be interested in learning a few skillz... Should be easy enough to find places to host events. Thaba Trails for example.

Honestly worth it. I'm a total co-ord and after one session under Peach's guidance I was having loads of fun on the bike. It's just really basic stuff that, once explained and demonstrated, suddenly gives you tons of confidence on your ride. Everything he taught me applies to my usual bike as well.
