Anybody in the AL group know what that guy was who broke away in the last 6 km, he went like a bullet, there was still about 60 peeps in our group and no one bothered to chase..

That was a respectable attack.

Seems like most of the groups that got away was helped by the accidents

what bike and kit was he in?

The kid in the Germiston Wheelers kit? He took a wrong turn and got lost. Shame.

Man I was upset about that and we had such a nice little group going. How strong was that guy with the one leg? I was very impress with him.

Did that idiot with the black and blue giant carbon eventually help in the front as he was hiding all the way.

Haha I just thought of this it was my second time riding in your group (94 and fast one) and both times I just couldn't finish with you, maybe third time lucky.

I don't think he did anything. He nearly fell near the finish (touch of wheels).

Must agree about that guy with one leg. respect.

Two thumbs up. One leg, and did his share.

Nope. He did help keeping ppl awake, though... :whistling:

The Europecar u16 did make a break at one stage and a CycleLab u16 did try and chase them down later on. The pace did pick up and the Europecar boys were chased down just before the finish but I must add that there were quite a few AL,VA & VB riders that did some of the chasing. I recon the U16 should be left to ride their own race as they are in their own category and on different gearing as well. But boy, some of them sure are strong. Pity about the fall at the finish.

The 0/16 race was hard. It was 3 or 5 Europe Car 0/16's against a Cycle World Bloemfontein 0/16, and the Bloem guy got the win.

BL went out a hell of a rate - my legs need warming up damit.

Had a throughly enjoyable time in second group of BL quite a few free riders though!! People need to learn to share the load up front, especially in conditions like that.

Felt strong entire route, last 50km were the most enjoyable nice working bunch and free riders had mostly fallen off the back - ended on 2.50 (no wonder i felt strong  with that time) - good morning out though.

You reckon....told NSBB after 10km...."bugger this, I am out", just then the pace went down a bit and all was good.

That VA group went all out around the 15km mark and absolutely blew the group to pieces.

I was in VB, our group split badly after one of the guys crashed around a corner - does any one know who that was and if he's ok, as he was gripping his shoulder and I think it might have been his collarbone.

Did a 2:44 - had a puncher and did the last 40km like Celine Dion - all by my self...

Condolence to the family that was in that accident on the highway.

That was my team mate that went down. The guy in front of him crossed his line and took his front wheel out. He suffered a clean break of his collarbone, had a plate and pins put in yesterday.

I agree, pace was hectic, I take a while to warm up. I bailed afte rabout 8km and got into the second group.. some guy sat 3rd in the line and everytime when it was his turn at the front he just sat up and waited for the 4th guy to take over.....

AL. It was the green Di-data kit chap that broke away if I can recall, and the buch just about caught him at the finish.

What i would like to know is when the group of 6 guys managed to break away? They took 4mins on the main bunch. was it at the accident when several guys fell? there was a huge accelleration just thereafter. Or was it later?

Good days riding, got 2:34 and felt strong.

We must have ridden in the same group, as I came in at 2.49. A guy in Club 100 kit on a yellow bike, myself, a stong girl and another guy were mostly on our own up to about 40km. The group got new legs when the C group (possibly 3rd and 4th) joined the group.

Great ride none the less. Just suffering with sore legs.
