Hi guys

Maglies is gonna be my first race ever...gulp. Have entered for the 45 km as was worried about the technical sections on the 82 km route ( not to mention the monster)

My question is how technical is it compared to thaba trails ( have done the blue route 2 and found it very difficult ) my only other mountain bike riding I do is to the green route at thaba ,the block house and surrounds plus occasionally rietvlei.

My skills are average so is my fitness , would I be outta my depth if I could change my entry to the 82 (if possible) . Doing about 120 Km's a wk road & mnt combined.

Thanks guys

P.s I'm crapping myself

To be honest they are very different...thaba has short sharp bultjies where the monster has longer less sharp drags. Also you need very good skills to ride everything at thaba ito maneuvering around sharp bends...there are plenty of rocks at the monster but that is about it.

Upgrade...you will be fine. You havent done the monster if its not the big one

I have an entry for the 45. PM if interested. For free, mahala, gratis.

Can't go - other commitments

Damn, could've used the arm warmers though.....

Ping. PM sent, fingers and toes crossed.

Awesome thanks for the advice, makes me feel a little easier ( I think) .

Will try this afternoon to change to the pukka race. Like you say if you haven't done the monster...well you just haven't.

Good luck to all who's doing either.
