DOMESTIC RACING LICENSE AT NUMBER PICK UP

Just a word of advice for the new people your are getting a domestic racing license.

 

When you purchase your Domestic Racing License from the CSA web site there is a button that notes: "Download Membership Card". This will print a blue backgroup membership to CSA but note this is not your Domestic Racing License. You need something that actually notes : "Domestic Racing Licence". This usually comes in the post but you may be racing before you get it. Take a screen dump of the member Home Page on CSA website where it states that the 2014- Domestic Racing License status: Active.

 

 

Every year i go to registrations and hear "This is not your license" etc. "You actually have no license " just a Csa Membership etc

The other thing that can happen and it happened to me this year is that they send it to my Cycle Club and not to my PO Box - so also check with your club to see if they don't have it.

At least they had a seperate table for racing vets/ licenced riders at the Fast One pick up at Cycle lab. they also had printouts of the current licenced riders and could check. Many. including me, havent received our licence cards yet from CSA in the post yet,(shock horror, who would have thought)

Another gem - I was told at number collection that if you don't race with your licence in your pocket in order to produce it on demand you can be banned for 2 years.

I have stopped entering races apart from 94.7 and argus, i just do not have the time to collect my number in office hours so until these knobs catch a wake up i opt out,

I'm not so sure who the bigger ...... is, because gathering from the above post, you seem to have cut your own nose off to spite the race organisers.

In this day and age of electronic devices I will not be printing anything nor carry anything with me.... If they ask, I will give them my membership number (which is like all my info on the phone - which I have with me). They can then check if it's paid up to date!!! What a bunch of old school #$^&*%@!

Yeah agree with most of the above! Incredible how after paying R500 per year, CSA can't even get us our licenses before the season starts.

The other major CSA rip off is the "reprint license" button on the website, which appears after your racing license is approved. Instead of reprinting a racing license, it just prints the exact same CSA license with an updated date and charges you R35.
