Wiggins on the attack... in lace ups by the look of it.

Suppose OPQS wasn't going to cock it up again. Cancellaras only chance was maybe to try get away with 20km to go but the attack by Sagan ended that plan. Even if he chased Terpstra I still believe OPQS would have secured the victory. Obviously Terpstra is currently on form. Well done

Looking forward to the Amstel Gold Race

The Dutch Classic Amstel Gold Race has a character all of its own: twisty and narrow roads, short and steep climbs, and crazed orange-clad fans. The first of three Ardennes Classics is a race to watch and one for the riders to add to their palmarès.

The relatively new classic (this year celebrating its 48th edition) starts in Maastricht and ends with three circuits on the Cauberg. The first two times up the 1.5-kilometre climb splits the race into select groups, while the final ascent decides the race winner.

Home teams Belkin and Giant-Shimano will go all out to make their presence felt in this race, but in recent years they have fallen short of the victory. Italians have made this race theirs since Erik Dekker last won for Rabobank and the Netherlands in 2001.

Hopefully we'll get to see the rainbow stripes in the classics to come.

Yes please, where is he hiding?

Fight for podium

Sagan had several technicals and had to chase down the main bunch at least twice.

Then attacked several times.

He had good legs.

And, importantly, had no teammates to back him in the final 2 hrs or so.

So, superb top 10 spot for him.

Yeah, but traditionally the GC guys make an appearance at the Ardennes races.

Let's see

Wins prize for most anonymous ride at Pais Vasco...

I honestly think he's wasting his time pretending to have GT overall win pretensions. He's a Sagan kinda rider.

Yeah, agree

Puncheur type

To win a GT, climb like a god and TT like a steam train. Not sure he's capable.

He has had 6 second places this year so far. Rainbow stripes does have impact on one i'd figure.

however, nino has been winning all year last year with the stripes, just some bad luck yesterday.

Costa should be one for the classics, not GT's.

I hope Gilbert could regain some of the form he had in 2011/2012. was great to watch him animate the races.

Think Impey will come good in maybe one of the classics.
