Good Day All Tec hubbers.

Quick question.

I have a XTR and an X0 crank. I tried to put a Guesst 32 and 34 chain ring on but it doesn’t fit on either. The holes do not align up and are slightly out.

Anyone have had the same problem?

What chain rings will work with these cranks?

Which XTR and which X0?

Also which gusset chainring?

mmmmmmm  :whistling: will have to get back to you on that.

BCD of both chainring and crank needs to be same. SRAM (GPX) has a 120 BCD, not sure about the XTR.

XTR 960 (has 3 different bolt holes), the middle being 102mm

XTR 970 BCD of 2 outer chainrings 104mm

XTR 980 BCD 104mm

XTR 985 Race BCD 88mm

With the exception of the XTR 960, Wolftooth make one for each of them.

Which gusset do you have? 104mm?

If you have the 102 bcd XTR crankset and a 104 bcd chainring, turn the chainring bolts around so the female is now on the outside and the male on the inside. This will allow you to 'marry' them no worries.

You sir are a GENIUS!!!!!

I've been wondering how to put Wolfstooth etc. narrow-wide style chainring on an XTR m960 crank. Was considering elongating the crank or chainring holes

See the inverted Chanring bolts, the 104bcd chainring with some cut/buffed XTR 102bcd cranks.... and the awesome pink chain!

Now, which to run on the Enduro bike? I'd given up on the XTR960 for that purpose till now. So....

XT 770

I am probably going to ask a stupid question.....please bear with me.

Can I make use of XT Middle Chain Ring (32 T) to convert it to a 1X10

Do I have to use a Chain Guard?

If you have a clutch RD it may work, some have said that they have used normal chainrings and a clutch RD and have not had it jumping off. A chain guard would be the safer bet and you will know that you wont have that problem, else use a narrow wide chairning instead of the XT and clutch RD

Motard - yes you can, you will need:

Chain guard - affirmative, either an XC guide (top guide only) or a full guide (top guide+roller) will work. It will either be fixed via chain guard tabs or if you don't have, then bb mount guide. Or frame mount top guide only

Spacers for the chainring bolts on the "male" side or shorter "female" bolts

Clutch derailer and NW ring also works - as per Shaper above
