This one. Yours for a mere R 62 500. But you'll drink free beer for the rest of your life cos all your riding mates will always be in your garage workshop. It even comes with the bottle opener.

If you have absolutely no tools, then those might work.

If you already have some tools you are going to get double of what you already have.

Tools in that price bracket is normally a bunch of allen keys, chain whip and cassette remover.

You will need cable cutters, bb remover and a couple of other tools that is better to buy separate as and when you need them for that specific job.

Thats the way I built up my workshop! ;)

+1 ...what he said!!

buy seperate as you need them...

If you already have some general hand tools, then I don't think buying a tool set is worthwhile - just buy the specialist tools for the specific job you have at hand as and when you plan to do it - and buy the best tools.. you will give them to your kids one day.... or lose them - as the case may be.... :)

At the last Forest2Falls last year my self extracting bolt on my crank came loose, I did not have a 10mm Allen Key on me, but managed to tighten it a bit by forcing a stick in and turning, enough to ride gently, hoping to find some tools at the water points, however no luck, but no shortage of those Leathermans, not that useful as a bike tool it should be said.

They make a small lightweight one that is an absolute killer little tool on or off the trail

As for cable cutters, get one from a hardware store - much cheaper and as good. For cable crimpers, either use an electrical crimper from a hardware store or long-nosed pliers - much cheaper than from any bike shop.

To remove the plastic retainer on some cranks (XT), use circlip pliers if you have, or anything that fits in the hole as the thing should not be screwed too tight (tell the bike shops that!!).

Yes that Snap-op kit is baie naaice but off the freaking scales price-wise! They stock them (in locked display cabinets) at the Tool Shop in Randburg, whch is a great tool shop btw, you wont find any junk there. Good range of Stanley as well.
