I'm looking for a large tube of rubber cement glue in Joburg. I can only find the small tubes that come with puncture repair kits.

Anyone know where I can buy a large tube of rubber cement glue?

Do not use contact adhesive or rubber cement stuff for fixing tubes - not flexible enough especially as the glue ages.

You must use the stuff made for neoprene, I thought I knew better doesn't work!

How much is a tube of Mcnett Maverick?

It depends what you're trying to achieve. Aquaseal is the stuff I use for fixing neoprene feet on waders, but if you want a big tube of it, you need to buy it online. Otherwise, Frontier Fly Fishing, in Peter Place, Bryanston.

Contact Adhesive works fine. All they do is dye contact adhesive black and sell it to you as wetsuit glue. I've been using it for 3 years with no problems and it's held on all the repairs I've made.

I take it its one of those fancy tri suits you're speaking about, of which I have no knowledge

But, if your wetsuit was made in SA, chances are you'll be able to send it in, and they'll repair it professionally for free or a small fee of like R30.

I did this with my Rabitech/Coral opencell wetsuit and my normal Neophrene REEF wetsuit. sometimes they'll eve redo loose stitching while its there.

Awesome service from these guys:

It's about R120, will have to make sure though!

www.trianglesports.co.za stocks it as well, give them a call.

Just got some neoprene glue from Coral wetsuits, about R35 a decent little tin, man it works a charm!

Tried good contact adhesive, Bostik latex glue none which worked very well, maybe if you fixing your ancient 5mm diving suit contact adhesive will work ok but if you using a modern ultra stretchy suit especially the 2mm suits you have to use the wetsuit specific glue. Man am I happy , got quite a sizey gash from a rock on my suit and things were looking bleak, also doesn't hurt that the neoprene glue is black and it matches most wetsuits, makes the repair virtually invisible.
