Me too, my first attempt as well, on my MTB hard tail, got some slicks and will give it a bash. I'm riding for EWT (Endangered Wildlife Trust).

Not a bad idea, I've only ever done it on a road bike, might be time to try a MTB.

Go all out and stop along the way.

Have a beer with a random spectator, or coffee on the pavement at Hyde Park - you tend to look at the race from another perspective
