Well I have every weekend open between now and 94.7. Sat and Sun on the open roads of Cradle of Mankind.

But what about those days? What proportion of it is sprint training, what distances should I build up, what pace should I keep at and how do I make progression of the pace?

These are the questions in my mind.

I really dont think sprinting comes into a 3h 94.7. I would do a mix of long rides - building up to longer than 3.5h and really intense tempo rides (race pace). Try to latch onto groups for as long as possible at races and learn to ride in a bunch. Bunch riding is a skill. Do some really hard rides on the long drags and learn how to hold your pace.

I have but a few months to train for a sub 3 94.7.

Anybody have a training regimen that can help me attain this?

A sub 3 94.7 or anything for that matter is as much seeding as training. For a good seeding you need to race. As you race you improve, and so does your training/fitness.

I did a sub 3 last year after riding for only a year since I was a teenager.

Do every 100km race in your area.

My seeding last year cam from a good Rand Water Race for Victory. Same event used to seed me for Argus.

simple rule of thumb, and and all RaceTec and Championchip timed(I Remembered this time Gerald) races are seeding events.

More a case of :

* all RaceTec,

* Championchip races that manage to strike up a deal with the 94.7 organizers. As far as I know, the only one is Carnival city

Hope I can have my new retro road stick sorted by then. I'm not keen on the mtb again.
