Well this was a great event, my day ended in disaster, got a entire 100m odd on sp1 under my belt before knocking a hole in my rear tire on the first rock garden, then when trying to re-inflate the flat the valve broke, managed to fit a new tube and continue a further 100m and boom, tube burst. Guess today was just not meant to be. Must say though yesterday was a blast, rode sp1, 3 and 4 with Matt from Cotic and his crew, genuine guys and a hoot the entire time. Lets hope next time goes better, either that or going old school perma-tubes.

I second that, thanks to Johann, Sean, Leslie, Murray all the other lads involved in putting it together, the sponsors (doubt I'll win anything :whistling: ) the medics for getting the downed rider off SP2

So glad to have an event I actually want to be a part of, at least i managed to keep rubber side down, but A line at the top of SP1 is so blown out, what line again?

The rest of the trail and berms are super though.

Thanks guys, top notch stuff.

Agreed, big thumbs up to everyone involved, you guys did a great job, I was totally impressed!   Now if only my legs were as good as the organisation!

Will the results be posted online somewhere, maybe this week sometime? I'd like to see my times as I had to leave shortly after finishing the race unfortunately...

They will be posted for sure, probably here and Facebook. Doubt tonight though as everyone is K.O.

Great day out on the bike.

Huge thanks to Hakahana and the whole team for putting this race together, really well done.

We all appreciate the hard work that goes into it.

Dropping into SP3

If you want tyres to survive at Hakahana, you need dual ply sidewalls on the rear. After a few requests from riders with destroyed tyres on Saturday, I asked Jason bring a handful of the tough WTBs though to the race. The guys who bought them didn't have a single issue in the race.

Well done to all the competitors and the whole team of organisers and timers. We learnt lessons from the first event which meant that there weren't any major glitches this time. The two areas which fell over last time (timing and after event festivities) were addressed, thanks to Murray and Zea respectively. This will improve even more. We even tested the medics this time with excellent results. The drone filming and the inclusion of more photographers on the course promises to provide some memorable footage which we will share in due course. Soon this thing will be operating like a finely tuned machine...

We will put more focus on trail building for the next race: fixing some of the blown out areas, adding new lines, berms, rollers, jumps, features etc. Just have to find some sand to work with.

Need moar footage or pics... did nobody take photos or had someone take the photos?

I'm sure Hakahana will release the footage and pics as soon as they've had a chance to go through and sort them, not an easy task to accomplish overnight  ^_^

I watched my footage last night. SP1,3,4 look great! but SP2!! OMG you can't see what's happening the camera was shaking so much!! Suppose it happens on a hardtail

I'll see if I can upload them tonight.

That's why I opted for the head mount yesterday ;)

I would love to see what the Enduro was like and the trails at Hakahana. I have not been there yet and want to see what true enduro is about.

Would you guys say this was a full on Enduro?
