Replace 2 with " check your tyre for sharp objects and your rim-tape for uncovered spoke holes when you change a tube. Otherwise the same thing that caused your first puncture will puncture your new tube" and your advice will be correct.

 

+1 Also, a self adhesive patch takes no space and weighs nothing.

Another very cool "feel good" story! Kind of restores one's hope in humanity after all the foul stuff that happened the week before the Argus - referring obviously to the wheel and pepper spray wielding in Camps Bay. Kudos Wesley!

Thanks to the chap who gave me a tube on chappies this afternoon after I punctured and then blew up the spare. Tried fixing the puncture but the patch didn't hold.

saturday morning I'm cruising along and I see a cyclist standing on the side of the road, slumped over his handlebars. It really looked like he was trying to recover from falling or something. So I slowed right down and start asking him if he is ok as I approach from behind.

This is when he lifted up and bit to answer me and I see the camera resting on his handlebars, using them as a make shift tripod to capture the rising sun.

Hope I didnt ruin his shot
