Anybody come across some 29 x 3.0 tyres anywhere locally??

Looking at a possible project for the near future....

He's the agent for Surly. Saw somebody (Thug?) had bought one.

Not 3.0" but I have a WTB Dissent 2.5 in the garage if you're interested.

braailegend: might seem out of left field, but the Maxxis High Rollers do very well in wet conditions.Excellent mud clearance because of the clear channels between knobs in the circumferential direction. Their grippiest compound is advisable however.

But in general, taller knobs + soft compounds is what you want.If those conti's work for you, and you can get em in tubeless, or convert them to tubeless, then stick with that.

I have ditched the HDs, and are now running the Magic Marys up front on my trail bike. The DH bike still runs Muddy Mary's but will be switching that over to Magic Marys as well. the grip from the Magic Marys is stupendous and a very very versatile tyre, despite the size of the knobs.

Not scared of the knobs, prefer tyres with aggresive tread, as I dont ride uphill, I usually push up to the top, haha

WIll have ook at them

Cap, where did you get your Magic Marys from?

I'm running a 2.25 Perfomance-line (yeah, the cheap ones) Rocket Ron on the back together with a Pacestar HD on the front. The Ron wears very quickly, exaggerated by the fact that I ride to/from Tokai on mostly tar, and the Pacestar HD is of course quite hard. I'm thinking of moving the HD to the rear and donning the front with some Magic once the Ron is kaput (likely not long).

Try the Ibex DH 2.4 for the front (soft 45 middle compound and 55 on side knobs) = Masons bike in has some left.

For the rear , I used 2.35 Minions or High rollers with harder compound.

The Ibex ; in the compound suggested wears out too fast on the rear wheel, but works very well for the front. Not sure if you can convert them to tubeless though.

I've asked him about combined shipping. Unfortunately I don't think it will shoehorn into my frame, the Dirt Wizard should work though

braai, onza ibex. voor en agter. Dan is jy gewax. klaar gepraat.

Ek het Onza agter probeer, maar dit hou te kort(weens dit te sag is) maar as jy van die teerpad kan wegbly, sal dit langer hou.

Got em from the germans: www.bike-components.de. Prepare to cry at the price. :(

They are proving hard to come by. I think CRC stocks only one type for 26ers and another for 650b. Full variety outside of the german stores is rare, very rare.
