Yip that article basically says that the stumpy 29 er eve is the best bike out there but if you really insist on smaller wheels you can have this. Bottom line just get the stumpy 29 it's better for sa conditions and these so called experts rate it as the bees knees

Agreed. Happy to read a biased review for once. Stumpy 29er for the win.

Not exactly a good looking bike, actually quite fugly compared to the pyga 650b or even the giant.

Yeah, I've always been of that opinion. Strangely, the 26" Stumpy lines flow a bit nicer and it doesn't end up with this "clumsy" look. It's almost like a really beefy guy took a wheel in each hand and bent both upwards with the poor frame stretched in the middle.

I dont really like the samoosa thing going on in the top tube area, looks silly. Come to think of it, Didn't giant have that on the 2008 reign?

If they did then I think a lawsuit is in order against spez..... give em some of their own medicine.

Howzit guys,

So I went for the comp carbon, love it and only been for 3 rides.

Need some more advice from all you guys though regarding cycling kit. All mountain helmets and riding baggies? Noticed that they are *** expensive so wondering about if its worth just ordering the best helmet online - something liket the URGE Enduro Matic - instead of stuffing around with something second hand or cheaper? Baggie prices are also between 1 and 2k!

Also who's also a begginer and wants to join for a ride this long weekend sometime?

Etto helmet from Rapid Sports - R 450 at last check, and they deliver for R 100 (cheaper than you going in to CT yourself by car)

Also get some Endura baggies. Cheap, cheerful and they do the job well. You can get them from CWC and most cycling shops.

Fox Flux is relatively cheap enduro / all mountain helmet option, and has some good reviews. www.bucycle.co.za had them for about R800 recently.

Roger that.

Also, Fox's Ranger shorts are pretty good too, I recently bought a pair. Although they're not quite Dakine's Syncline (these are amazing, albeit pricey), they're very good value.

Congrats on the bike. I was hoping you would buy that one. Remember to post some pics. Enjoy.

My housemate is offering to swop this helmet for my old blackberry which seems a good deal however this helmet has f all ventilation. Maybe drill some holes, but still won't compare to a purposefully made trail helmet?

Those helmets you guys mentioned seem to be a lot better priced than I imagined, thanx for the help.

Pictured I've taken of the bike are too large to be uploaded so will have to wait for a computer to show you guys this sexy beast :-).
