Any Recommendations for MTB shoes.

I have had 2 pairs of Spez comp and they have served me well.

Will probably end up getting another pair, but interested in what else is out there in that price range. Also would prefer something in JHB region so i can see and feel them first.

Thoughts?

Suggestions?

Have you checked out the Giro Terraduro?

I dont know how rigid you like your shoes but I find when I ride my SS i prefer a little bit of flex and these are fully walkable and comfy for those hills when riding simply isnt an option.. (not sure if you have too many of those in the big smoke....)

I also hate buying new shoes... I always want to try new things but usually revert to the tried and tested same old in fear of the new stuff being hideous!

Good luck

thanx bud will look at them.

I prefer quite rigid. no really crazy hills here, not like the coast, but am looking at getting trail cleats soon so they may be an options.

Shimano XC30?? Worth a look... I'm happy. And should be in your price range.

Second that proposal. Especially, if you have wide feet.

They are particularly comfy for walking/portage/pushing

Saw the Bontragers mentioned above at cyclelab. They are really nice seem strong and will probably last a while. The expensive model with the full carbon sole are drool worthy

I'll third it. Love mine, feel like normal shoes.

Funny, I have narrow feet!!

BUT, the 3 straps allow for all sorts. And they are the bizniz for walking in, for sure.

For some reason I also found my cleats work better clipping in and out on them as well. Maybe because they're Shimano?

Lol, they must be well made then. I'm a size 13.....fit very well. Without anything to compare to they do clip very well. Paired with Shimano M-530's took me all of 2 rides to be able to clip in and out easily (first time clipless)
