Does anyone know where to get Bridgedale running (or similar Merino-wool) socks? I need [] more socks and want add some wool socks to the collection.

Bliks@m the scrub hare trailrun was hard, the mountain climbing really killed me

I will loose at least two toe nails from kicking rocks that ambushed me from under the grass.

But very well organised and route was well marked.

Yea the 9k was just as tough. My back is super stiff. Like all the myroadlesstravelled races this one was awesome fun.

Saw some at cape union mart this weekend

My local CU....errr...Mart only had the hiking ones. Went to Outdoor Escape - they had minimal / summer socks (no wool though), but still worth a try.

I never have enough socks so if I find the ones I'm looking for I'll buy them as well. Also, the salesperson at Outdoor Escape almost sold me 1000 Mile socks - socks with a 1000 mile warranty   Supposed to help with feet blistering. They ain't cheap, but (luckily?) they didn't have my size...

Last year the week before the Dirty Double, I did a 12 k road run (my first of that distance!) to see whether I would maybe last the 10k trail run part. Yesterday... we did a flippin 32k run in Paarl Mountain. (I think it's safe to say I'll survive the 10k trail run of DD coming weekend!)

It was my furthest run by some margin, but awesome! Legs are starting to give my notice of my idiot move now, but hey, I did it. Nothing a light recovery run tonight can't fix - otherwise I'll have trouble walking tomorrow!

Fortunately the Achilles seems to have held up MUCH better than anticipated. I am so glad I seem to be winning (gaining ground slowwwly) on that front now.

Routes: 6km (R110), 12km (R160), 18km (R200)

few on the same day in different provinces. Gauteng one is at Hedainga in Pretoria

Bugger - pity that it's the day after the Cape Town Peace Trail, otherwise I'd have been there! And same day as CT Marathon, so also taking some "roadies" that may have been interested in doing this one.

Weird how people keep on clashing with big events... it's not as if CT Marathon weekend is an unknown date? I'd personally have done everything to avoid that weekend, Gun Run weekend and obviously Oceans weekend ito CT dates. That said, I opted to enter for Fairview Trailrun on the weekend of Gun Run, but at least that's local to me. These events are both IN Cape Town.

best spoprting socks EVER! used to sponsor our races, but that is still my unbiased opinion.

get hold of the team at http://www.adventureinc.co.za/brands/bridgedale/ to find your closest sotckist

I found some synthetic material Bridgedale's - not very fond of them. Very slippery inside the shoe. I know some people prefer this to prevent blisters, but its not lekker for heavy rocky descents or other technical stuff. Falke's trail socks does the same. Salomon socks still work the best for me so far.

Anyways, anyone doing the Namaqua Flower Run? Or having an entry but not doing it anymore? Didn't want to do at first (too close to the past Spur series), but now I'm having a serious case of FOMO.

Those who were also there will most likely agree - this was an awesome run! (If you don't I'd like to know why...)

Great views, interesting format and my buddy and I agreed that it felt like much more elevation than what was stated, but maybe it was just the timing and the slopes of the elevation.

As much as I enjoyed the downhills in the beginning, towards the end I had a (very) near fall and was tired, so then I started doubting - and then the downhills got a bit mislik. And worst was running overly cautious and telling yourself that you're just causing problems for yourself now, but you can't find the "Commit" gear...

Well organised, brilliantly marked, superb views and I loved running through the protea plantation - all-round a great experience! My legs are still complaining, but that's doing nothing to spoil the smile inside.
