Ok so finally the build is about to begin.

Got some guys getting quotes for me on parts kits for the build.

XT Groupset but converted to 1x10 with a chainguide.

and then Hope hubs with some rims that im still deciding on ....

Then a 160mm Pike

The frame .... well thats for Christmas time! But I can say it WILL be carbon!

Nice...about the 1x10 group which model DR, cassette(toofs) and chainring(toofs) did you go for

havent got it yet ... but would presume it would be the long cage clutch derailleur ...

then whatever toofs the guys at the LBS suggest for me to not suffer too much uphill but still have fun down.

Im thinking about something similar to what CRC have going here

Probably a 34 or 36 tooth front with an 11-36 rear??

I donno

hmm so have you decided on a frame as yet?

if not wait a few weeks as yeti have announced the SB6C, basically the same bike Graves used to win so many races this season, switch infinity 157mm travel and yes of coarse carbon. basically pure pornography!!

Ta, reason I am asking is that I want to do the same in the near future with my 10spd setup but seems like going with zee RD is the way to go

I have 2 bikes with 1* setups, a 1*10 (Shimano) and a 1*9 (SRAM) both with 'normal' medium cage RD's and Rapide NW chainrings and have had no drops of the chain yet so I wonder about the necessity for clutch RD's?

Disclaimer - I may just ride like a girl so don't actually stress those drivetrains :o

Frame is chosen - not ordered yet as i have to wait for stock ...

But just got the total price of the build .. GULP! ...

Looks like I will be poor again for next year!

I seriously considered the Zee RD at the start of the year when I did my 1x10. The problem I had with it is that a 36 rear sprocket is the maximum size it is rated to handle. I therefore decided to futureproof my conversion (I may get a 11-42 cassette in the future) by getting a medium SLX Shadow+ RD. It works awesome, I cannot compliment my SLX RD enough, it is an absolute workhorse.

All too true;)

Saw some Haibikes for sale and rental at one of the bike shops in Morzine. They had the AM/enduro bikes and the e-bikes. Well priced for the specs they were running.
